OnSight Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 11, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how OnSight (we, our, or us) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services. OnSight is owned and operated by Honed Edge, LLC.

We built OnSight for owners and teams who work on job sites, not behind a desk. Our goal is to collect only the information needed to make the app function reliably for you, and to be clear about how that information is handled.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information
    • Name, email address, and business details you provide when creating an account.
  • Location data
    • Location data is collected when you enable location tracking in the app. This allows OnSight to detect visits, track time on site, and suggest actions such as invoicing.
    • The app matches your current location to client locations you have entered. This matching happens on your device.
    • Location data is not sent to the OnSight server or stored by OnSight unless you choose to track a visit at that location.
  • Work data
    • Details of visits, clients, services, materials, and invoices you create in the app.
  • Device and diagnostic data
    • Basic diagnostic information (such as device type, operating system version, and crash logs) used to improve performance and stability.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising or marketing purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

  • Operate core features
    • Detect and record site visits accurately.
    • Generate invoices, estimates, and job summaries based on recorded work.
  • Improve the app
    • Improve the accuracy of geolocation and dwell detection over time.
    • Monitor reliability, performance, and crash behavior.
  • Notify you when helpful
    • Send optional notifications and reminders related to visits, invoicing, or account activity.
  • Maintain security
    • Help protect accounts against unauthorized access and misuse of the service.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • Secure transmission
    • All data is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Secure storage
    • Your account information and visit history are stored on secure cloud servers that use industry-standard safeguards.
  • Access controls
    • We limit access to production systems to authorized personnel and regularly monitor for signs of unauthorized access.
  • Passwords
    • We never store passwords in plain text.

4. Location Permissions

OnSight uses your location only when needed to:

  • Detect nearby client sites
    • Suggest visits based on where you actually are.
  • Calculate dwell time
    • Estimate time spent on site for more accurate billing.
  • Record your job history
    • Help you look back at where you were and what work was performed.

You can disable location tracking at any time in your device settings. Doing so may limit some OnSight features, including automatic visit suggestions and dwell time calculations.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

We may share limited data only when necessary:

  • Service providers
    • With trusted providers who help us operate the app (for example, cloud hosting, email delivery, or error-tracking services). These providers are only permitted to use your information as needed to perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements
    • When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.

We do not share or sell user data to advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide OnSight to you.

  • In-app deletion
    • You can delete your account at any time using the clearly labeled Delete Account option in the app’s settings. When you do this, we delete your account and associated data from our active systems.
  • Deletion by request

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal data, which can include the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Request a portable copy of your data, where technically feasible.

To exercise these rights, contact us at onsight-support@honed-edge.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
